In part 1 of this blog series, we unpacked just 3 of the 6 most common complaints with corporate uniforms.
We suggested some of the ways you can opt-out of those before they come at you when redesigning or implementing a corporate uniform.
You can also go read our guide on how to go about implementing a uniform redesign.

We've previously mentioned the importance of getting it right in terms of comfort, quality and then also helping staff understand your vision behind the uniform.
In this blog we are going to look a little bit at cultural/ religious beliefs, equality and affordability in corporate uniform and last, but certainly not least, personal style in corporate uniform.
1. Cultural And Religious Beliefs In Uniform
Equality is a key characteristic in corporate uniform.
Not only equality among staff, but also equality in the sense of making sure that differing views are taken into account and respected.
For example, Muslim ladies often need to wear a hijab, as part of their belief and culture.
This is an example of one way a corporate uniform may conflict with the beliefs of staff.
It is essential that you make a decision on this and explain to staff members involved where they stand when it comes to your uniform policy.
You want to find that awesome balance between respecting someone’s belief and still maintaining your corporate identity in uniform.
2. Expense As An Obstacle
When it comes to a corporate uniform, it is tricky to ensure the budget is not compromised.
Not only from the perspective of your staff members but also as the company.
The wrong corporate uniform might be expensive for staff members to maintain. For example, the uniform may require dry cleaning as an additional expense.
Keeping it simple and affordable, or providing an extra budget for specific uniforms will go a long way to ensure there is peace in implementing a uniform.
3. Self-Expression, Identity And Style Vs. ‘It’s Ugly’
Ultimately, it is your decision when it comes to choosing the right corporate uniform, and staff can either take it or leave it.
However, putting your employees in something that is not hitting the latest corporate clothing trends or is even remotely appealing will send them on their way in a jiffy.
Be conscious of colour, style and approach in choosing an empowering uniform.
