In our most recent blog, we discussed the rise of the ‘she-conomy’ within the marketplace and how this revolution has influenced the corporate dress code.

This mindset of autonomy in the workplace has infiltrated the whole system, including the way people dress for work.

Not only are women given more autonomy in their roles, but essentially everybody has cottoned onto this idea in their corporate clothing choices as well.

People are leaning towards a more ‘relaxed’ style in the corporate sphere as opposed to the potentially uncomfortable static wardrobe of the past.

We thought we’d immerse you a little deeper into this and give you three snippets of the impact.

1. Confidence & Performance Boosting Attire

The quest for comfortable, smart casual business attire is not just for women. Men are enjoying their own business casual vibes in the office, rocking the denim tops and chino pants.

A survey conducted by Randstand in the USA this year settled that about 63 % of employees between the ages of 18 - 35 say that they dress for confidence and a performance boost.

Remember when you look good, you’ll feel good and then your work will be good!

2. Depreciating Standardised Dress Code

A crazy amount of 33% of employees who took part in the same survey, said that they would happily quit their jobs if their employer implemented a set of rules for a more ‘conservative dress code’.

We recommend you opt for a bespoke corporate dress code that supports the desires of employees.

While at the same time striking a balance by making sure your brand stands out with professionalism at the core.

3. Social Shopping

Shopping has migrated to the atmosphere of the ‘cloud’ instead of needing to physically visit a shop in order to try some new items and purchase them.

It is now possible to link into social media platforms in order to ‘shop the look’ that tickles your fancy giving you purchase power at the fingertips.

This social media feature has had an impact on the world of corporate fashion, according to Kris Ruby, because of the ‘modern-day catalogue’ presented to them on platforms like Instagram. Speaking of which, you can check out our profile here and stay on top of corporate clothing trends.
